What is Physical Education
"Planned, sequential, K-12 curriculum, designed to provide students with knowledge, attitudes, skills, behaviors, and confidence to adopt and maintain life-long physical activity."--CDC as defined in the PECAT.
Purpose of PE
The Physical Education & Health Department is an integral part of the total education program. Physical education stimulates and promotes the physical, mental, emotional, and social growth processes. Our curriculum offers the student opportunities to experience the following through our quality Physical Education program:

Levels of Effort. Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE)
In skill building, effort is an essential component to maximize growth and development. At Nathan Hale we have adopted a simple approach in teaching the students Levels of Effort in our activities. We use this as a foundation to teach cardiovascular health, maximal heart rate, and the components of fitness.

Our District
Continues to be a great supporter of the health and wellbeing of their community members. They realize the importance of health and wellbeing.
